iPhoneography Quick Tip: Kik Messenger App for Instagramers
Y’all know about Kik App right? No? Well let’s talk about it. You may have seen Instagramers sharing their Kik handle in their Instagram profile and have been wondering what the heck Kik is, or today may be your first introduction to it. First off Kik is an iPhone texting app, akin to the likes of What’s App. And it just so happens to be great for iPhoneography enthusiasts too!
Now, you might be wondering why you need another instant messaging app on your iPhone…and to be fair you may not. But if you’re an Instagram addict, there is a pretty darn good case for installing Kik app. As you know, Instagram is all about connecting with other Instagramers, through Likes and Comments, but all of your comments are very public and until recently if you wanted to send another Instagram user a private message there were very few options. You could connect through various web apps such as Statigram, or via good ‘ole Facebook or Twitter, ultimately if you were really desperate to connect you could send your email right in their comments feed (if you want to be signed up to a million spam lists…).
Enter Kik Messenger.
Kik Messenger App is different to other texting apps in that you don’t actually have to share your name, phone number, or other private info. You can create a Kik account with the same or similar information to your Instagram handle or nickname. As most people use nicknames different to their full name, this means you can keep your personal information private, if you wish to and let’s face it, when it comes to over-sharing most of us could use a bit of reigning in.
So in less than 5 mins you could have a way to not only connect with other Instagramers, but friends and family too. The interface is super simple, slick and fun. The photo-sharing is superior to other similar apps on the market…and the kicker is (see what we did there?)…it’s FREE. Get it now from the app store.
